The Nationals have designated 31-year old righty reliever Jesus Colome for assignment. Colome pitched in 16 games (0 starts) for the Nationals this season and he was 1-1 with a 8.40 ERA and a 1.93 WHIP. He has now pitched in parts of three seasons with the Nationals appearing in 138 games (0 starts) in which he is 8-4 with 1 save, a 4.50 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. Despite having an electric arm he never really was that good of a pitcher which is a shame.
