The Washington Nationals sign Kevin Mench
The Nationals have signed 32-year old righty swinging outfielder Kevin Mench to a minor league deal. He did not play in the majors last season after spending 2008 with the Blue Jays. Mench has played in 702 games in his major league career and he is 629 for 2,335 (.269 avg, .786 OPS) with 309 runs scored, 89 homers and 330 RBIs. This was a good low risk chance for the Nationals to take as Mench will have a chance to make the team out of spring training to help off the bench.
