The Washington Nationals sign Adam Kennedy
The Nationals have signed 34-year old lefty swinging 2B Adam Kennedy to a 1-year, $1.25 million dollar deal. The Nationals also have an option for 2011 on Kennedy valued at $2 million bucks. Kennedy played in 129 games for the A’s last season and he was 153 for 529 (.289 avg, .758 OPS) with 65 runs scored, 11 homers, 63 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. He has now played in 1,356 games in his major league career and he is 1,270 for 4,583 (.277 avg, .721 OPS) with 581 runs scored, 68 homers, 486 RBIs and 156 stolen bases. This was another solid move by the Nationals’ front office as Kennedy will be the starting 2B for them in 2010 at a bargain price.
