The Nationals have signed 30-year old lefty swinging 3B/OF Mark Teahan to a minor league deal. Teahan played in 78 games for the White Sox & Blue Jays last year and he was 32 for 160 (.200 avg, .573 OPS) with 14 runs scored, 4 homers and 14 RBIs. He has now played in 831 games in his first 7 years in the majors and he is 759 for 2,873 (.264 avg, .736 OPS) with 388 runs scored, 67 homers, 332 RBIs and 45 stolen bases. Teahan’s versatility in the field will give him a good shot of winning a bench job this spring.
